Underneath a bland white, overcast sky, we see in the foreground and below the camera a pair of railroad tracks leading away into the distance. The tracks are well below ground level. On the right, at surface level, we can just barely see a street, with tall, modern buildings behind it. On the left, we see trees and part of a paved riverbank, at about the same level as the tracks but separated from them by a wall. In the distance we can see the familiar outline of the Eiffel Tower about 1500 metres away and almost perfectly aligned with the disappearing train tracks. The view is cluttered by poles carrying catenaries for the trains in the foreground.
