Arc de Triomphe at Night

Color photograph of the Arc de Triomphe at night
text description

This is the Arc de Triomphe as it appears at night. It is yellowish because it is lit with high-pressure sodium vapor lamps (like streetlights), which have an orange-yellow color. This is how it actually looks.

This photo was taken from the sidewalk on the southern side of the avenue de Friedland, which is the next avenue over from the avenue des Champs-Élysées, about half an hour before midnight on a Saturday.
