Statue on Alexander III Bridge

Color photograph of an ornate statue covered in pure gold on a granite pillar
text description

This is a statue on the Alexander III bridge (pont Alexandre III). It is one of four placed on high granite pillars at each corner of the bridge. Yes, that’s real gold; the statues are covered in 24-karat gold leaf. I’m not sure what the statue depicts; all statues like this look pretty much the same to me.
