Théâtre de la Huchette
The Théâtre de la Huchette, here on the rue de la Huchette, has been showing the same two live plays, The Bald
Soprano and The Lesson, both by Eugene Ionesco, every day since February 16, 1957.
Both plays are in the theater of the absurd genre. I haven't seen them, but they must be fabulous if they've been running for more than half a
century. The theater seems to manage to stay in business with just these two plays alone. I've heard that some of the actors in the plays today are the
grandchildren of some of the original actors; that might just be urban legend, though.
