Eiffel Tower and Tunnel Beneath the Place de l'Alma

Color photograph of westbound entrance to the tunnel beneath the Place de l'Alma, with Eiffel Tower in background

In this photograph, you can see the relationship of the underpass at the Place de l’Alma to the Eiffel Tower. The westbound entrance to the tunnel is off to the right; it appears more distant than it really is because of the very wide angle of this photograph. The Eiffel Tower is about 860 metres away. It’s a hundred stories high, so it’s still easy to see from here, even in this wide-angle shot.
