Elevated Métro Station

Color photograph of an elevated subway station interior
text description

This is the interior of an elevated Métro station (Sèvres-Lecourbe) on line 6 of the Paris subway.

Line 6 runs above ground over a large portion of its route. This station, about four stories above street level, is typical of the elevated stations you see on these portions of the subway. You can see the overhead right-of-way in the distance beyond the station. Escalators and stairways within the station provide access to and from the platforms.
