Photographs of Paris

I live in Paris, France, as I’ve mentioned elsewhere on my site. This being so, it has occurred to me that visitors to my site might enjoy seeing some recent photographs of the city in which I live, which is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I’m not really much of a photographer myself, but with such excellent material to photograph, things tend to come out okay anyway, even for a no-talent like me. I'm essentially just trying to show the city as it actually looks, not looking for any artistic effects or other things that would require talent.

There are many galleries of Paris photos on the Web, of course, but the distinction of my gallery is that I actually take the time to explain what you are seeing in the photos, instead of just slapping them up on the Web with no useful information on their context.

		This is the Arc de Triomphe, one of the best known monuments of Paris, at the top of the Champs-Élysées.

		This is a view of the Seine River an hour or so before sunset, looking west from the Pont des Arts.

		This is a picture of the famous Sorbonne institute of higher learning in the Latin Quarter.

		This is the Panthéon, a necropolis filled with famous French dead people, in the Latin Quarter.
