Send me a dollar!
If you like my site and you'd like to contribute something to the maintenance of the site (which is free, since I don't like to charge people just to look at pictures), you can send me a donation. Any amount is fine. I have very little money and even tiny donations make a difference.
How to Send Me a Dollar
The easiest way to send me a donation is to click on the PayPal (on the left) or Amazon (on the right) boxes on this page. You can donate any amount using PayPal. Amazon is limited to $50 maximum. Amazon also takes a bigger cut than PayPal does, but banks and other organizations take quite a bit either way, so I guess it's a wash overall.
The contribution amount is shown in U.S. dollars. You can still donate even if you live in a country that does not use U.S. dollars as its currency; just give an amount in dollars and your bank will convert the amount to your local currency when your credit card is charged.
Out of the donations I receive, I pay about 20-30% in bank fees and exchange commissions (the smaller the amount, the higher the percentage). Yes, you're right, that doesn't leave much, but something is better than nothing, and there is no way to avoid these expenses (legally).
If you would like to sponsor me or my site somehow, please contact me and we can discuss it. Currently I use Google Ad Sense (the small advertisements you see at the right of many of the pages on my site), but it doesn't look like I'll be getting rich with it, as click-through rates are extremely low (a fraction of one percent).
If for some reason you'd like to just send me a gift, I have a really long wish list of stuff on Amazon.com that I'd like but cannot currently afford, in all price ranges. I'll e-mail you a thank-you note for gifts, of course (if you identify yourself with an e-mail address). I have a separate list of software that I'd like at Amazon in the UK because Amazon in the US won't ship software to Europe (and I like my software in English); the software items are generally quite expensive, though, so no sense looking unless you feel very generous.
Needless to say, if I don't make money directly off my site, I have to pay for it with money I make in some other way. One way is through the donations and sponsorship I mention above; but if you wish to hire me for some of the services I provide, that also provides income that I can use to support the site. Look in the Services section of my site to see the types of professional services I provide.
