Disneyland Parisfirst previous next last This is a picture of Main Street, in the Magic Kingdom at the Disneyland® Paris resort east of Paris. Disneyland Paris is the most popular amusement park in Europe, which is not surprising. As you can see, the theme park is similar in design to the other Magic Kingdoms, but it is somewhat smaller than the parks in Los Angeles and Orlando, although it is still very nice. The park is not 100% owned by Disney, and it shows (see my Paris FAQ for more information). The basic set of attractions is similar to that in other parks, with some important differences. Sleeping Beautys Castle is somewhat different in form here from how it appears in other parks. The general opinion that I've heard is that the Paris version of the castle is the prettiest. The weather was perfect when I took this picture on a summer weekday in the park, and the park was packed in consequence (and it was also the middle of high season). Lines were about 90 minutes long for the major attractions; however, overall, lines tend to be shorter here than at other Disney parks, and during the off-season, there are no lines at all (assuming you can find attractions that are open—half the park seems to be closed at times other than high season). Photographed on August 4, 1999. |
