Here you see one of the small excursion boats on the Canal Saint Martin descending through a lock just south of the Bassin de la Villette (the open area that you can see in the background, beyond the pedestrian bridge). These boats provide a pleasant, leisurely ride up and down the canal within Paris for a modest fee.
