Dehillerin

If you love to cook, E. Dehillerin is the store for you. It's the best known of a number of professional cooking equipment stores on the north side of the Forum des Halles area. No fancy displays here. The equipment is stacked on shelves with reference numbers on two floors, and you're expected to know what you want when you walk in, although the staff is friendly and helpful even towards non-professionals. Don't be surprised if you see a professional chef walk in in search of some obscure utensil, with his hat and uniform still on.

I don't know what half the tools sold in this store are used for, since my cooking skills are limited to pressing buttons on a microwave. But if you need a special tool that, say, cuts tomatoes into the shape of the Crab Nebula, this is the place to look for it.
