Parc André Citroën

    ParcAndreCitroen

The André Citroën park, shown here, is one of the newer parks in Paris. It is named after the founder of the automobile company whose factory once stood in this area (the factory is now to the north of Paris).

The structure on the center right of this photo is called the Ponant, a combination of glass structures and a granite plaza with moving water fountains. You are looking roughly east in this photograph; to the left and largely outside the frame is a vast expanse of green grass, as well as a kind of well-sculptured group of woody gardens and some giant terrariums. It’s a nice place to relax.

This park is quite large, and hard to photograph in its entirety. I’m still trying to get a really representative picture of the whole thing.

Photographed on May 28, 2001.
