Lobby of the Centre Pompidou⏮ ◀ PompidouLobby ▶ ⏭ This is part of the main lobby area of the the Centre National d’Art et de Culture Georges Pompidou. The museum doesn’t really have a lobby per se, but it does have this large open area where you enter the building, and often there are small expositions or other attractions inside. I can’t tell the difference between modern art and furniture or construction work, so I’m not sure whether anything is visible in this photo or not. This photo was taken from a mezzanine that leads to the external escalators (and by which you must pass to access the other floors of the museum. You're looking south with late-afternoon light coming in through the windows of the main entrance at the right. Photographed on April 2, 2000. |
