Sanisette for Wheelchair Usersfirst previous next last This Sanisette is designed for use by wheelchair users (see my main photograph for more information). It is considerably larger than the ordinary Sanisette, and it contains modifications (such as sturdy handrails inside and a different lavatory arrangement) that make it easier for wheelchair users to use. Unlike normal Sanisettes, this type of Sanisette may be opened only with a special access smart card (administered to wheelchair users by the city); no coins are accepted. This Sanisette is on the rue de Sèvres, in front of the former Hôpital Laënnec. I also have a photo of the interior of this type of Sanisette; to see it, click here. Photographed on July 18, 2008. |
