Two TGVs at Montparnasse Station

first      previous      next      last

These two TGV Atlantique trainsets are waiting at a platform in the Montparnasse train station in Paris. You can see that the high speeds take a toll on the trains, leaving scratches and streaks of a type that you would usually be more likely to see on aircraft. They are washed regularly, though.

The trains simply back out of the station when they depart; they have driver’s cabs (and locomotives) at each end.

Photographed on November 7, 1997.
