Louvre Museum

Louvre Museum

The rays of an afternoon sun in a cloudless sky illuminate a huge courtyard from the left. On the right, we see the ornate architecture of one wing of a large and manifestly old palace, of a creamy yellow-orange color in the oblique sunlight, and with many repeating arches and other motifs extending into the distance. This contrasts with a very modern-looking glass pyramid of a dozen metres or so in height on the left. A regular, slender, dark-gray metallic structure supports triangular panes of glass in the pyramid from within; gardens behind the pyramid in the far distance, as well as part of the wing of the palace, can easily be seen right through the structure. Sunlight glints off the left-hand face of the pyramid, and two fountains flank the pyramid on either side. The pyramid is clearly several stories high, and the wing of the palace is slightly higher.
