Venus de Milo

Venus de Milo

Description: In a rather dimly lit room with lighted ceiling vaults in the background, we see a group of tourists standing in front of a marble statue of a woman nude to about the hips. We see the statue from the back, on the left, and we are facing the tourists, most of whom appear to be looking at the statue. The statue is missing at least one arm from what we can see in this image. The statue is a bit over 1.8 metres high and is on a black stone pedestal. A glass barrier with a metal railing surrounds the pedestal at a distance of a metre or two and at the same height as the pedestal—the net effect is to prevent people from touching the statue.
