Parc Monceau

first      previous      next      last

This is the Parc de Monceau /paʁk mõso/, one of the prettiest parks in Paris. It is in the very nice and quite chichi eighth arrondissement of Paris, not far from the Arc de Triomphe and the top of the Champs-Élysées. The park, which features carefully manicured gardens, pleasing paths, small ponds and streams, and lots of pleasing sculptures, is hugely popular with young parents (and their small children), affluent joggers (they like the path that circles the park), and newlyweds having their pictures taken.

This photograph was taken on a very beautiful late afternoon in spring, near the northern entrance to the park. You’re looking west in this photograph.

Photographed on May 8, 1999.
